Today we feature 'Deserted farmhouse' in Balcunnin, County Dublin by George Sheils. The tones, textures and lighting conditions make this a very interesting composition. George explains:
"This is an image from a small roll of film taken in a derelict farmhouse just outside skerries. Everything was left as is. Kettle on the window ledge, cobwebs, dust, peeling wallpaper and some very nice old furniture including this old chair. The farmhouse has recently been demolished".
We love the contrast between darkness and light in this powerful and evocative image. It's difficult not to wonder who sat in this chair! The picture is mysterious and intriguing. You can browse or buy George's beautiful black and white prints from his gallery here.
