Today we feature a black and white composition of Carrickfergus Castle in County Antrim by De-aRt Photography. It is one of the best preserved medieval castles in Ireland. It was built by the Normans in 1177 and over the course of history has been besieged by the Scots, Irish, English and French. I'm fascinated by castles and the wall of Carrickfergus are steeped in history. A significant event in the American War of Independence even took place here! In addition, six of the twenty-two guns used during the Napoleonic wars back in 1811 still remain in place on site.
An interesting monochrome of Carrickfergus by De-aRt, you can buy this print from €40 here.
