Today we feature a photo by Trevor Cole of unrelenting Atlantic waves crashing against Achill island off the Coast of Mayo. This is the largest island off Ireland and is connected to the mainland via Michael Davitt bridge. Trevor has captured the power and beauty of this rugged coastline and I like how the sunlight highlights elements of the landscape. Interestingly, there is evidence of people living at Achill dating as far back as 4000 BC. Its fascinating to think how long civilisation has existed and thrived in Ireland. Trevor has certainly captured the spirit of this location.
