Happy Christmas everyone!!
Hope you're enjoying the festivities! To celebrate we share a festive picture of the Grafton Street Christmas lights by our newest photographer Barry O'Carroll. Dublin is always known for its incredible atmosphere at Christmas, particularly in the city centre. Grafton Street is one of the two main pedestrianised shopping areas in the city, the other being Henry Street. Retail space on Grafton Street is the fifth most expensive in the world per square metre. The iconic Bewleys Cafe is visible to the right in this image. I can personally recommend the food there. Fantastic atmosphere and I really enjoyed a seasonally appropriate chicken, brie and cranberry ciabatta sandwich! The New York times did a piece two weeks ago in which Dublin is city is likened to "walking into a christmas card" (see it here). I'd tend to agree. :)
The picture evokes nothing but great personal memories. This location has a special place in the hearts of many Dubliners. A great night exposure by Barry of this iconic street and cafe.
