Our featured photo on the first day of 2015 is Emain Macha in County Armagh Northern Ireland by Darren McLoughlin. Also know as Navan Fort, this site was used in pre-christian times for pagan ceremonies. Beyond the archaeological importance of this site, it is also believed to be the capital of Ulaidh. The Ulaidh were the people after which Ulster was named. Many Irish stories and legends relate back to Emain Macha. I think Darren has expertly captured the spirit of this mythological location. The light provides a soft glow and warmth. It certainly feels like there is something special about this mysterious location.
