Today we feature Fanad Lighthouse in Co. Donegal by Owen Clarke. It was built after the sinking of HMS Saldanha occurred near the location in 1812. Owen has captured this iconic lighthouse and helipad on a sunny day. Interestingly, the lighthouse is now open to the public - you can even stay there overnight! Whales and dolphins are often spotted off the coast here so it's a fantastic place for photography. The lighthouse is still fully operational (albeit automated) and helps to protect passing sailors along the coastline.
