Today we feature sunrise in Ballycotton, Co. Cork by Rónán McLaughlin. The outline of Ballycotton lighthouse can be seen on the island 2km from the town. Interestingly, the original settlement of Ballycotton is now under sea due to coastal erosion. The lighthouse visible here was commissioned in 1851 and was not automated until 1992.
