Today we feature the recognisable Fanad Head Lighthouse in Co. Donegal by Joe Craig. It was built after the sinking of HMS Saldanha occurred near the location in 1812. Joe has captured this iconic lighthouse on a clear and sunny day. Interestingly, the lighthouse is now open to the public and you can even stay there overnight! Whales and dolphins are often spotted off the coast here so it's a fantastic place for photography. The lighthouse is still fully operational (albeit automated) and helps to protect passing sailors along the coastline.
