Editor's Choice: Photo of the Day

Photographer: Robert & Cathy Ardill

Today we feature an image of the prehistoric Newgrange monument on a frosty winter morning by Robert and Cathy Ardill. Built over 5000 years ago, Newgrange is an older structure than both Stonehenge and the Egyptian pyramids. One day per year, during the winter solstice, the sun aligns and light floods in through the roofbox to illuminate the inner chamber.
