Editor's Choice: Photo of the Day

 Photographer: Ronan Harding Downes

Today we feature an image of the The Black Castle ruins on the coast of Co. Wicklow by Ronan Harding Downes. The castle was built by the Normans after their arrival in the 12th century, but was attacked constantly by The O'Byrne & O'Toole clans until it was eventually destroyed in 1301.
