Today we feature a striking image by Carsten Krieger of Muckross Lake in Killarney National Park, Co. Kerry. It is Ireland's deepest lake at a depth of 75 metres. Amusingly back in 2003 a sonar reading was taken at Muckross Lake and detected a large solid mass under the water. This sparked rumours of a 20 foot creature of a similiar makeup to the Lough Ness Monster living below the surface!
